In pursuit of sustainable development, Chailease Holding responded early to the Ministry of Agriculture’s launch of the Natural Carbon Sink and Biodiversity ESG Project Matching Platform, becoming a proactive participant for two consecutive terms over a three-year period. In 2026, Chailease Holding plans to visit Meinong Chiuchiunglin-the only protected natural conservation forest of its kind in Taiwan—to build nesting boxes and nectar sources for solitary bees and owls, establish a nursery for Hakka ethnic plants, and conduct patrols and ecological surveys, working collectively to safeguard biodiversity.
In April 2024, the Forestry and Nature Conservation Agency of the Ministry of Agriculture introduced the Natural Carbon Sink and Biodiversity ESG Project Matching Platform, successfully engaging corporate participation. As of December this year, a total of 25 projects have been facilitated. With a strong focus on sustainability, Chailease Holding is committed to environmental protection and pays close attention to natural carbon sinks and biodiversity. Extending its efforts into ecological conservation, supports the Satoyama Initiative and further strengthens environmental education through corporate volunteerism. These initiatives are led by the Chailease Foundation, which mobilizes employees to take part, with the aim of fostering harmony between human society and nature.
Since 2024, the Chailease Foundation has brought together employee volunteers to collaborate with Taiwan Thousand Miles Trail Association (TMI Trail), balancing ecological conservation with community development. Through labor-based approaches and eco-friendly construction methods, volunteers have restored the Seishui Forest Trail in Nantou and the Mount Hehuan East Peak Trail. Chailease volunteers carried out hands-on repairs to address collapsed trail foundations, overly steep slopes, and exposed tree roots, enhancing both trail safety and ecological friendliness. These efforts also highlight the importance of on-site forest conservation and help build long-term, meaningful connections with local communities.
The Chailease Foundation further emphasized that participation in the Forestry and Nature Conservation Agency’s biodiversity projects marks the first time corporate volunteers have entered forest environments to provide conservation services. Looking ahead, the Foundation plans to continue aligning with government policies and to work closely with competent authorities, local groups, and civil society organizations. Through sustained collaboration, Chailease aims to establish a long-term model for corporate engagement in nature conservation, contributing to the protection of Taiwan’s Satoyama landscapes and ecosystems.
Established in 2004, the Chailease Foundation centers on “career aptitude development,” supporting the healthy growth of children and adolescents and helping young people acquire essential skills before entering the workforce. To extend the positive impact of its employees, the Foundation launched the “I’m Ready Volunteer Club” in 2015, encouraging staff to take action in support of small and medium-sized social welfare organizations and community sustainability initiatives. As of 2025, the Foundation has partnered with more than 60 nonprofit organizations, including the Hondao Senior Citizens’ Welfare Foundation, the Andrew Food Bank, and the Down Syndrome Foundation, amplifying the positive influence of corporate engagement.
