On November 28th, the list of Taiwan's Top 25 Global Brands for 2023 was unveiled, and Chailease Holding secured its spot on the list for the 10th time. With an enhanced performance, it ranked 11th in the list, boasting a brand value of US$500 million, marking a 15% growth from last year. The brand value has consistently increased year after year, now exceeding 2.6 times its initial value, demonstrating the company’s sustained growth and success.
Chailease Holding has integrated environmental, social, and corporate governance (ESG) practices into its corporate operational strategy, internalizing them within its core business to become a driving force for innovation and growth. Apart from hosting the 11th "Chailease SME Strategy Forum," Chailease Holding has also organized the inaugural "Chailease SME ESG Forum" starting this year. Chairman Fong-Long Chen of Chailease Holding and Chairman Eugene Chien of the Taiwan Institute for Sustainable Energy engaged in dialogue on stage, guiding Taiwanese small and medium-sized enterprises towards the transformational aspects of ESG. This initiative aims to inspire sustainable thinking and kick start concrete actions for sustainability.
Ying-Chih Liao, the Chief Strategy Officer of Chailease Holding, noted that Chailease Holding's business development has increasingly focused on an ESG-oriented strategy. In terms of its product and business scope, the company ventured into energy-saving technology services extending from its core business of equipment financing in 2010, and expanded into the investment and construction of photovoltaic solar power installations. As of end of November this year, its solar power installations have grown to 3,650 sites, with a total installed capacity of over 1,315 MW, earning Chailease the distinction of having the most solar power installations and the highest accumulated green power generation in Taiwan. Furthermore, to extend and expand its influence, the company has took initiatives such as issuing green bonds and signing commercial papers linked to sustainable indices, as well as allocating funds specifically for green energy business development. The company also encourages its upstream and downstream industries to prioritize those clients and partners who incorporate ESG practices.
Not only does Chailease Holding achieve robust and impressive financial performance in its core business, but it also actively promotes ESG sustainable development initiatives and aims to achieve net-zero carbon emissions. The company has recorded significant achievements in various ESG practices and has received four major awards this year. These include the "Top 100 Sustainable Exemplary Enterprise Award" and the "Platinum Award for Corporate Sustainability Reporting" from the Taiwan Corporate Sustainability Awards (TCSA); the "Sustainable Resilience Award" from the British Standards Institution (BSI); and recognition as one of the top 10% outstanding companies for "Healthy Sustainable Leading Enterprises" by the Ministry of Labor's Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).
